Tuesday February 5, 2013 -- Lisa E. Davis and Melissa Georges will host "All's Not Fair: Copyright and Fair Use -- What Constitutes Protected Parody".  The event will take place in the Frankfurt Kurnit offices at 6:00pm and attendees wishing to receive CLE credit will receive 1.0 CLE credits in Areas of Professional Practice. 

Friday March 8, 2013 --  Our firm Diversity Initiative continues with something totally new for 2013: the Frankfurt Kurnit Diversity Book Club. The idea is to meet from time to time to discuss a book with a valuable diversity theme that can impact the way we conduct ourselves and do business. 

For our launch meeting on March 8th, the diversity committee has selected Covering – The Hidden Assault on Our Civil Rights, by Professor Kenji Yoshino of NYU. As Amazon notes, the book focuses on how some of us downplay or “cover” certain “disfavored” traits so as to better blend into the mainstream. It posits “a redefinition of civil rights in our law and culture.” We are excited to read and discuss it.
